Bas Leenknegt

Software Engineer specialised in cBioPortal

Bas is a software engineer with a background in behavioural biology and science communication. During his master, he explored the possible evolutionary mechanisms behind sexual signals of zebra finches. Bas has always loved programming. After his masters, he started working as a software engineer, first as a java developer at a consultancy firm, later on as a full-stack developer at the KNAW HuC, helping researchers to organise, analyse and visualise their data on Dutch history, culture and dialects. In his spare time, you can find Bas reading a book. One of his favourites is Darwin's seminal work on earthworms, in which Darwin observes their behaviour in response to piano music.
