Tim obtained an MSc in Biomedical Engineering, specializing in computational biology, at the University of Technology Eindhoven and received a Ph.D. in Toxicogenomics at Maastricht University. During his Ph.D., Tim focused on the interaction between the epigenome and transcriptome in cancer cell lines and population studies. He applied omics integration techniques to extract relevant features to build genomic interaction networks. After his Ph.D., he joined the Biointerface Science Group, working on a FAIR data infrastructure and the Biomaterial atlas. Outside work, Tim likes to go running, play field hockey, or play board games.
