Target identification, validation and prioritization using a user-friendly platform
The problem
Drug development pipelines suffer from increasings costs and declining success rates. More than half of the failures can be explained by lack of efficacy, of which almost half can be explained by poor linkage between target and disease. Selecting better targets can double the success rate of the drug development pipeline.
How The Hyve can help
The Open Targets Platform is an open-source web-based platform, that integrates multiple data sources of various types. It features a scoring algorithm on target-disease associations to help you to identify, validate and prioritize drug targets for further research. The Open Targets Genetics Platform allows you to discover associations between genes, variants and traits, and integrates well with the Open Targets Platform.
We help our clients by supporting these tools and are working with two of the Open Targets consortium partners to implement them within their organization. In addition, three other pharma companies, outside of the consortium, have expressed an interest to work with Open Targets in the near future.
