Alessia obtained a PhD in Bioinformatics from Utrecht University, where she investigated plant energy signaling mainly through phylogenetic analyses of large genomic datasets. During this time she enjoyed facilitating the work of other researchers using her coding skills. This motivated her to focus on becoming a better programmer rather than on a specialized research topic. She’s especially into Python and front-end. In November 2018 Alessia started as Data Engineer at The Hyve.
Aside from programming, Alessia practices digital photography and is a fan of the visual arts, from classic paintings to (web)comics.
